Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few answers to the questions I get asked most commonly.

My FAQ’s

I hope you find the information you need here, but if I’ve not covered something you would like to know about, please get in touch with me so I can assist further.

In the first session we will discuss your issue and what you would like to achieve. The first session usually lasts for around 60-90 minutes. Using the information provided, I create a bespoke hypnotherapy recording for you to listen to between sessions, which helps accelerate your progress. In the following session we specifically target your issue using a variety of techniques to begin to resolve your problem.
Many clients worry that they will be made to cluck like a chicken or that I will produce a swinging watch and control their mind. This couldn’t be further from the truth! My role is to facilitate and guide you through the process. You’re in control and we work together to help you create the change you desire.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a solution focused and brief style of therapy. My intention is to help you reach your goals in the shortest possible time. It can be difficult to accurately predict how many sessions will be required as rates of development vary between clients. As a rule of thumb however, I would expect to see a client for between 3-6 sessions. Some clients may need more, some need less. We calibrate your progress as we go and decide from there.
Many people have heard that the ‘Trance’ state can only be reached by certain people. The reality of the ‘Trance’ state is that we all naturally go in and out of trance every single day without perhaps even realising it. Have you ever been so absorbed reading a book or watching a film that hours have flown past? Or have you ever been driving and reached your destination without even being aware of the journey? These are examples of natural experiences of trance state and the good news is that we all have access to it.
Many people have been led to believe that they simply arrive for their session, close their eyes and I will wave a magic wand which will fix their issue. Therapeutic change requires both the client and therapist to work together to resolve issues. In fact, I have noticed that the more engaged and willing the client is to participate, the greater the therapeutic success.
I would never trust anyone that offers a 100% guarantee on work that requires both the client and the therapist to commit to creating change. My job is to expertly guide you through the therapeutic process and your job is to take responsibility to actively engage with the process. Together, fully committed, we can make incredible changes.
